Havasu City, AZ – The 2025 Bassmaster Kayak Series is set to kick off in style with its inaugural stop at the stunning Lake Havasu in western Arizona. From January 18-19, the best kayak anglers in the country will descend upon this iconic desert oasis to compete for glory and a coveted spot in the 2026 Championship.

Lake Havasu, renowned for its clear blue waters and picturesque scenery, offers a unique challenge for kayak anglers. The diverse fishery boasts healthy populations of both largemouth and smallmouth bass, forcing competitors to adapt their strategies to target the most productive species.

“Winter conditions will likely play a significant role in how the tournament unfolds,” said Arizona B.A.S.S. Nation kayak angler Bradley Kuhlin. “The bass will be schooled up in their winter patterns, and finding those concentrations will be key to success.”

The catch-measure-release format will ensure the sustainability of the fishery while providing exciting competition. Anglers will launch from any public access point on Lake Havasu, exploring the vast expanse of water to locate and land the biggest bass.

The Lake Havasu event marks the first of many stops on the 2025 Newport Bassmaster Kayak Series. Top finishers will earn valuable points towards the Angler of the Year race and secure their place in the prestigious Championship.

With high stakes and a challenging yet rewarding fishery, the Bassmaster Kayak Series at Lake Havasu promises to be an unforgettable event for anglers and spectators alike.
